Highlighting the very best
of Two Sisters Vineyards
For our June TSV Spotlight wine, we chose our Margo Rosé.
Our Margo Rosé has an enticing pink colour, and represents the success and extension of our Estate grown red wine portfolio.
With a nose of red currants, cranberry and cotton candy, and flavours of ripe berries, cherries and watermelon, it’s no wonder this beautiful rosé earned a 92 point rating and brought home a silver medal from the All Canadian Wine Championships.
As June 13th is National Rosé Day, we thought our stunning Margo Rosé would be the most fitting choice for the June TSV Spotlight.
The 2020 Cabernet Franc continues the tradition of distinguished Cabernet Franc at Two Sisters. Grapes were sourced exclusively from the Two Sisters Estate vineyard, located within the unique Niagara River sub-appellation. Yields were carefully managed to ensure optimal flavour development and concentration. The fruit was hand harvested after extended time on the vine to maximize ripeness and flavour, then allowed to ferment slowly in contact with the skins, and finally gently aged for 36 months in Oak barriques, 100% French.
On the nose this Cabernet Franc is an expressive and inviting marriage of ripe dark fruits with sweet herbs and spices. Maintaining perfect harmony with polished tannins and balancing acidity on the palate, the flavours of blackberries and black cherries are delightfully integrated with subtle notes of dried tea leaves, roasted red pepper, tomato leaf and white peppercorn. Persistent character creates a wonderfully lingering and complicated finish, allowing the complexities of the wine to be fully experienced and enjoyed.
