The 2019 Eleventh Post Special Selection is not just a wine; it’s the culmination of dedication, precision, and a passion for excellence in every bottle. With this inaugural vintage, we’ve crafted something extraordinary, a true reflection of the vineyard’s character and our winemaking team’s craftsmanship.
In early spring after more than 2 years of barrel ageing we began with a careful tasting of every barrel, seeking those with a rare and remarkable quality that stood out even among our top-performing lots. Each barrel represented the season’s journey—the ideal weather, the nutrient-rich soil, and the vines nurtured to perfection. But for the Eleventh Post Special Selection, we needed something more: wines that told a story with depth, complexity, and elegance beyond expectation. We wanted to highlight the best of the best from our site, regardless of variety.
After rounds of tasting and debate, we selected a handful of barrels that epitomized the best of the vintage. These wines from only six premium French oak barrels had achieved a stunning balance, displaying rich aromas, layered flavours, and a long, velvety finish. From there, we allowed these chosen barrels to further develop under careful watch, coaxing out every nuance that would ultimately define the Eleventh Post Special Selection.
The result is a wine that embodies sophistication and intensity, with a flavour profile that opens up new layers with every sip. Its structure is both powerful and graceful, with ripe fruit, subtle spices, and a hint of earthiness that grounds its vibrant character. Each glass reflects our vineyard’s unique terroir in the Niagara River appellation and the dedication that went into this first release from the great 2019 Niagara vintage.
