The 2020 Eleventh Post is a triumph of flavour, texture and balance. The fruit was sourced exclusively from the Two Sisters Estate vineyard, located within the unique Niagara River sub-appellation. Yields are carefully managed to ensure exceptional flavour development and concentration. This wine is a stunning expression of the vineyard from an exception vintage in 2020, as it is a blend of 40% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon and 26% Cabernet Franc, aged separately in oak for about 30 months before blending. The barrels were about 70% French oak, 30% American oak and 15% were new. The result is a wine of extraordinary complexity and balance. Showing lovely layers of dark fruits on the nose, there are undertones of herbs, spices and barrel notes. The palate is a delightful balance of flavor and structure, as notes of black cherry, blackberries and blueberries harmonize with supple tannins and acidity. Sweet herbs and baking spices surface as the wine expresses itself elegantly, and transitions beautifully into a finish of prominent fruit, smoky oak, a sweet earthiness and dark chocolate.
